General can I get a w00t?
Today was the release date for the long awaited World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lick King. I went down to our local Hastings and picked up my copy today during lunch. I’m totally stoked and looking forward to the install.
I also bought a new bowling ball last week and have been waiting to have it drilled. So, I emailed the guy who does the drilling at one of our local bowling alleys and setup an appointment for fitting and drilling. Within 15 mins. I had my hand measured and the ball drilled to fit. There were no open lanes for me to try it so I’ll have to head back tomorrow night for a test run.
Tonight, the GF and I are going to go home, make some dinner, have some cocktails and start Doctor Who Season 3. We recently watched both seasons of Torchwood and it’s gonna be nice to settle back into some Who again.
All for now…

General,
Rants in which I think of my Father and Nephew
Veterans Day Wiki: Also known as Armistice Day, and very occasionally called “Remembrance Day”, ‘Veterans Day’ is the American name for the international holiday which commemorates the signing of the Armistice ending World War I. In the United States, the holiday honors all veterans of the United States Armed Forces, whether or not they have served in a conflict; but it especially honors the surviving veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The American holiday was briefly moved to the final Monday in October under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, but the change was greatly disliked and soundly criticized - among other reasons, because it put Veterans Day out of sync with international observance; so it was restored to November 11.
Today I sit and wonder what this Holiday means to me. I think that it’s a day set aside to remember those that have served or are serving in a war. I can’t help but to think of my Father who server in World War II and then again in the Korean War. He passed away in Oct. of 2005 and I miss him dearly. Also, my Nephew who has been deployed to Iraq twice now and will probably be deployed again. Every time he’s deployed I worry that he won’t come home and I just wish that the war in Iraq would end. I greatly appreciate what they have done for us. They served selflessly and I honor them today.
This is also a day that many of us take off from work. (A Federal Holiday: A holiday recognized by the Government. Federal employees are given the day off and are paid for it. Typically, banks and stock exchange employees are given these days off as well.) So for those of you sitting in your house, doing whatever it is that you do, I hope that you take a moment to remember what this day is really about. Believe me, it’s more than just another day that you can take advantage of.
All for now…

General and I’m gonna post…something…
Well, let’s see. I went over to Ice Harbor Brewing Co last Saturday to hear M sing with the Coyote Kings. I worked that day, got off at 6pm and took J with. Had a really good time. I drank their Ale, ate their food and listened to the band. I got pretty buzzed and M drove home and then we stopped at the Blue for a cocktail before calling it a night. Good times!
The following Sunday I went to Gma’s house for a good ol’ fashion dinner. You know, the kind that you actually sit down at the dinner table to eat. She made a delicious pork roast with mashed potato’s & gravy and some kind of baked corn dish that was really good as well as a pineapple upside down cake for dessert. An absolutely wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Loved it!
Monday I hung around the house and took Momsie to get her hair cut and ran a couple of errands. Later, I went bowling with Caddy. Had a few beers and bowled a 185 on the 4th game and followed it up with a 200. My first 200 game ever. w00t! Had a blast and I’m hoping to go more often, as the weather is getting too cold to be out on the golf course.
Tuesday came and it’s right back to the grind.
I did manage to get my Rogue leveled to 70 which calls for another w00t. (w00t!) So, I’m starting to get geared up. Doing a lot of PVP to gain honor which will soon be spent on gear. I also wanna do some runs in hopes of getting some good drops. I could really use some new weapons. I figure I’ll get as much gear as possible before the expansion comes out next month. Looking forward to it.
I will be going to Woody’s up in Dayton for Halloween as M has a gig that night and I will be working the following morning. Should be fun. Nothing says fun like a bunch of drunk rednecks on Halloween. Yee-Haw.
Tonight, I’m gonna head home with my sweetie, have a cocktail, maybe something to eat and then let the Torchwood fest continue. I think we have just a few episodes left in season 2 and will then be shifting back to Doctor Who for season 5. Not sure if and when Season 3 of Torchwood starts. I think it’s gonna be in the spring of ‘09 but I’m not certain. I love this BBC shit. It fuckin’ rocks!
Anyway, that’s about all I have for now…

General it just isn’t summer anymore…
This year has went by rather quickly. It seems like just the other day I was wearing shorts and complaining about the heat and now it’s kinda chilly in the mornings and the smell of Fall is in the air. Which means that Winter is just around the corner. It feels like Fall just crept up on me without warning. My body isn’t exactly liking the sudden change. I’m basically starting to get into the “hunker down” mode. I did get that new Crock Pot I was wanting and have found a bunch of recipes to try out. Ahhhh comfort foodz! I’ve been staying in at night with the GF watching Dr. Who and Torchwood. I fired up my WoW account as you already read about in my last post and will be spending more time with that. Just bought some new socks and underwear, which I seem to do about this time of year. My energy level seems to be lower and my metabolism is slowing down. I always love that, just before all of the Holiday eating that is going to happen. NOT! At this rate I’ll be as big as a house by Spring. lol Srsly. I dread all of the yard work that needs to be done. Raking leaves just isn’t my favorite thing to do as well as getting all the flower beds cut back and cleaned out for the Winter. ‘Sigh’ Maybe I’ll get motivated soon and just kick the yards ass. I usually get a second wind before Winter hits and get everything done so I can hibernate without the guilt. Let’s hope.
Oh, and don’t forget about the roof that needs to be put on before Winter, which I seem to be procrastinating. The roofers are gonna love me! I have a few things to get done inside as well, odds and ends. But for now, I feel like going home, making some dinner, have a cocktail and chill on the couch with M and watch some Torchwood. Tomorrow is our weekly staff meeting and that means food and a nap shortly thereafter. I love Friday’s! Saturday, M has a gig at the Ice Harbor Brewing Co. with the Coyote Kings and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a great venue with good beer, good eats and good people. I thing J is gonna go with us. Should be fun.
That’s about all I have for now…

Gaming,
General my warcrack habit is back…
As the seasons change and the weather gets colder, I have decided to fire up my WoW account and resurrect my rogue, aka Supramax. I put him on the back-burner last spring to pursue other things as one might do as the weather gets nicer but now it’s time. I picked up a pre-paid game card and fired my account up last week. I went through about 1.2 gigs of patches to get current and started to grind and quest once again. I soon realized that I a lot had changed and I was really rusty. It took me a few sittings to get back into the swing of things and now it’s just like I never took a break at all.
So, I’m currently getting leveled to 70 as the new expansion will be released next month which will raise the level cap to 80. I should be at 70 within a week or so. The new 3.0.2 patch just went live today and I will have to respec my character and make a few changes to the interface to accommodate the upgrade. I like what I’m seeing for the rogue’s. New talent ladders with a lot of new stuff. All the better to gank you with. w00t! Alli’s beware!
In other news, I have one more car payment and the Buick is paid for. I wanna buy a new crock pot and start building comfort foodz. I have a bunch of yardwork to get done before winter and not really looking forward to it. Just finished season 1 of Torchwood and it totally rocked. I’m just now getting back into the swing of things at work after the trip to Vegas. All in all, things are going pretty good for the time being.
All for now…

General in which there are 4 more work days ’til blast off…
Counting the days to Vegas! Just finished my Monday and that only leaves four to go. Trying to get all of my loose ends tied up before leaving. Gonna tidy up my workstation, get all my laundry done as well as a few things around the house before I go. I’m getting anxious to say the least. I’ve been working really hard and I’m ready for some much needed R&R.
I recently had to replace my cell phone cuz the front LCD started to fail. I called last Friday for a replacement and my new Voyager Titanium showed up yesterday. Took it home, downloaded all of my content and got it all tricked up to my liking. Not a lot of difference from my old Voyager but does have updated firmware and I really like the visual voicemail. It’s really a great phone.
Waiting for M to clock out and then I think we are gonna make some cheese grits and watch some Doctor Who. What could be better, right? Oh yeah, with a cocktail and a Dingo!
Gotta go

General oh yes, there will be foodz…
I’m sitting here at work (off the clock of course) waiting for M’s shift to end. We are gonna pickup J and head over to my place and do some grillin’ in the shed. I’m gonna throw down some cheese grits with grilled sweet onions, peppers and zucchini for the GF and make some chili dogs for me and her Bro as well as a few adult beverages. I’m getting hungry just thinkin’ about it!
I have to work tomorrow and then off for two days. Going to try to get a few thing done around the house this weekend and then it’s just one more week of work before Vegas. I can hardly wait. I’m super stoked!
Other than that, I’m just bored.
The trip to Mineral, WA for the Rainier Blues Festival last weekend was a blast. Hella cold but a blast. Sure was nice to get out of town for a weekend. I think we just might make that little trip again just for the hell of it.
Well, it looks like I’m about outta here.

Rants and I’m gonna tell ya’ about it…
IT SUCKS!
It seems like the older I get the more prone I am to injury in general as well as other things. Here are just a few examples…
1. I went bowling a couple of weeks ago and basically blew a hip and my right elbow after just two games. I limped for three days and my elbow is still not up to par. I might mention that I was loaded but that’s still no excuse for the damage.
2. I went golfing last Monday, 18 holes with a cart (shot a 90) and managed to blow the same hip out of wack and my elbow wasn’t likin’ it either. Later that evening, I was in the kitchen with M, reached around her to grab the can opener from the 2nd drawer and threw my back out. I mean cmon, a fucking can opener? I could hardly walk the next morning and have been suffering ever since.
3. My diminishing eye sight. I have always had great vision. I can track a golf ball into the rough from 200 yards out but lately I have noticed that I can’t even read a menu at arms length. This is pissing me off. So, I’m going to buy some readers to help me with my inability to read things up close. Sigh.
4. The night before last, the GF and I took turns applying Icy Hot to each others backs before turning in. Nothing says ’sexy’ like the smell of Icy Hot for God sakes.
These are just a few of the things that are pissing me off about growing old. I’m pretty sure that it’s not going to get any better so I’ll just learn to deal with it. Not that I want to but what’s a guy to do?
In other news, the GF is now shaving my head in the comfort of my own home instead of paying $12.00 for my Barber to do it. She even does my eyebrows! I *heart* that girl.
All for now…

Update
Decided to go bowling again with the GF and her Bro. My hip survived but I totally pulled my left calf and I’m limping like crazy. If it isn’t one thing it’s another…

General he just doesn’t apply himself…
Where to start. Let’s see. I went bowling last week with the GF, her Bro and Landie after a few drinks at the P&E. We had a blast and I’m pretty sure I blew a hip in the process. Oh, and the weekend before M and I took a Sunday drive up to Harris Park. It’s up the south fork of the Walla Walla river. Absolutely beautiful up there.
Last week we had the Fair in town. Mush was singing with the Coyote Kings on the Pepsi Stage Sunday night. It was hella cold but we had a great time. I ate the usual foot long hotdog, a couple of corndogs and a brick of curly fries. Hurt like hell but you can’t pass up all that fair food. We also had a little picnic over at Gma’s house and I brought my Momsie over for a couple of hours to eat and mingle with M’s family. Wow. I seem to be writing this in reverse order but what the hell.
Anyways, this month on the 13th I will be going to the Rainier Blues Festival with Mush and will probably stay the night as we don’t want to drive 10 hrs. in a day. I’m really looking forward to it. Then we will be going to Las Vegas for M’s Birthday. That’s right, Vegas bitches! I can hardly wait. We will be gone from the 28th to the 2nd and back home to recuperate. It’s gonna be a fucking blast.
Oh, and I’ve been whoopin’ ass in the Sales Dept. lately. Selling like a bad dog. Closed 10 accounts just today. w00t!
I’m sure I could ramble on about some other trivial shit but this all I have for now.
Take care…

General yes, it’s been HOT…like 106 in the shed
Well, let’s see now. I haven’t posted forever and I’m starting to get shit for it, so here we go. I’m gonna backup to last Thursday and go from there.
We had our company swimming party at the MF aquatic Center. M and I showed up a little after 8pm and ate the food, swam the pool and played the games. I went down the slide a half a dozen times and ended up with a new rollie case that I really needed for the trip to Vegas nest month. Thanx Scott! (we traded prizes) Stopped by Kelly’s on the way back for a drink and then headed back to the house. Good times.
I worked my usual Friday, that included the lunch meeting and a power nap with Wooj immediately thereafter. God, I love Fridays! Stayed late and worked on some sales training material for the new hires and then took M to the P&E for cocktails and to watch Feedback play. We ate some egg rolls and listed to the band for a couple sets. They broke out War Pigs at some point, serious. Gotta love it! We left around midnight, hit Taco Hell and then went home as I had to work in the morning. And morning certainly came, oh too soon. Back to the salt mines I went after dropping M off at Gma’s.
Woke up a little hazy and headed on in. Had a busy day and ended up with 8 sales for the day. w00t. (I’ve been kickin’ some ass it the Sales Dept lately.) Headed over to M’s to pick her up for a gig in Waitsburg with the Coyote Kings. They were playing a wedding reception for some locals. It was held in the Waitsburg Town Hall that had NO A/C. It was 90+ inside and about 100 outside. The band got everything setup and we headed over to a local tavern around the corner for a pre-gig cocktail. Well, maybe a couple.
Then back to the Town Hall as the gig was about to start. Plenty of food, booze and people. Hard liquor and 2 kegs, as well as an entire crock pot full of plasticheez on the buffet that M was very pleased to meet. First song played was Shotgun Wedding, that was totally appropriate for the venue at hand. While M worked, I proceeded to consume my fair share of the keg beer. Feeling pretty good by this time. By the 2nd set of the night, there were drunk people dancing, including the groom who was strutting around like a cross between Mick Jagger and Napoleon Dynamite. Cracked me up. I was gonna cut myself off at that point, when a kind lady came by with a nice cold pitcher of beer. Unable to resist the cold delicious beverage, I accepted and thought to myself, “srcew it, it’s a wedding. right?” Off I went. Next thing you know, I was tapping the 2nd keg with the groom and was on my way to a serious buzz.
The band wrapped up around 12pm. I helped schlep some gear before leaving, caught up with M out front and hit the road. I took the back roads into town and M wanted to have a cocktail as she had been working and didn’t get a chance to indulge herself, so we headed to the Stone Hut for a nite cap. OMG. That turned into 3 more cran/vodka’s and a shot of some kind of cherry/vodka concoction that really wasn’t necessary at all. Closed the place down and headed back to my house to pass out. The next morning was hell!
I awoke to one of the worst hangovers I think I’ve ever had. OMFG! I was in bad shape. I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt like that. I managed to get vertical after a handful of ibuprofen and we decided to head down to Clarette’s for some much needed food. M’s bro is in town, so we gave him a call, picked him up and took him with us. Consumed food, coffee and water, which I certainly needed and then went on a long Sunday drive up Mill Creek. The drive lasted what seemed like 2 hours and then back to the house to rest my bones. Took a nap, had some killer nookie and then ordered a pizza for dinner. Lounged around for the rest of the evening watching the Food Network and took M home around 11pm. Awesome weekend!
Today, I felt much better. Got up around 9am, took a shower and had some coffee. Greg came by and I managed to get his PC up and running and transferred a bunch of data he needed onto an external HD. Sat around talking until 1:30 and Carol’s son Andrew came by to play guitar with me for a while. Jammed ’til 3:30 and then took Momsie to the store. Dropped off the goods and then headed downtown to buy a new pair of shoes. w00t! I ate the leftover pizza, had a cocktail and decided to sit down and post this.
So, there you have it.
All for now.
